M’belle: Pratibha Puraskar Presented in St. Lawrence Composite PU College

Moodubelle, 24 Dec 2012: Pratibaha Puraskar to the achievers in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities were presented to the students of the  St. Lawrence Composite PU College on Saturday, December 22, 212 at 10 am in St. Lawrence PU College Hall. Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes presided over the programme. Dr. Gopinath Kamath an old student of the institution and presently a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department at MIT was the chief guest.

 

Other members on the dais included Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of St. Lawrence PU College, Mrs. Hilda Aranha, Senior Teacher of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School, Alphonse K. Alva, Vice President of the Parish Council and Devdas Hebbar, President of the Old Students Association. Ignatius Sequeira, President of Bellevision (USA) and Valerian Fernandes were the guests of honor.

 

 

Prior to the stage programme, Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes hoisted the institution’s flag in the assembly of the students. 
Following prayer song, the students also presented a welcome dance. Mrs. Chandrakala fortmally welcomed the guests. Fr. Paul Sequeira presented the report of the activities of the institution.

 

Dr. Gopinath Kamath who was a student in St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School from 1989 to 1992 was honoured by Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes by offering him shawl, garland, fruit tray and memento.

 

Prizes for the achievers of the St. Lawrence English Medium High School were presented by Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes and Alphonse K. Alva including the winners of the Relay Race and Champions in the recently held annual sports competition. Similarly prizes to the PU College students were givcen away by the Chief Guest Dr. Gopinath Kamath and Mrs. Hilda Aranha.
