Moodubelle: Lions District Governor Dr. Madhusudan Hegde visits Moodubelle Lions Club

Moodubelle, 19 December 2012: On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the founding of the Lions Club of Moodubelle, the Lions District Governor, Dr. Madhusudan Hegde MJF, paid an official visit to the club on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. This was his first visit since he took over as the governor of Lions District 317C comprising of the revenue districts of Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivmogga, Chitradurga and Davanagere. The district governor was accompanied by  his wife Lioness Shobha Hegde, second district vice governor. Suresh Prabhu, PMJF, former district governor Prof. Wilfred D’Souza MJF, Region Chairman K. Dinakar Shetty, Zone Chairman Ronald Menezes and Regional Ambassador Shridhar Shenava.

 

In a formal stage programme, the guests were welcomed by the president of the Lions Club of Moodubelle, Gilbert Braganza.  Nelson D’Silva, secretary of the Lions Club of Moodubelle presented the report of the activities of the club. Devdas Hebbar introduced the district governor.

 
In his address, Dr. Madhusudan Hegde traced the growth of Lionism in the world and in India and outlined his plan of action for the year 2012-13. He complimented the Lions Club of Moodubelle on its  fifteenth anniversary and appreciated the social work that the club has been doing especially under the guidance of its charter president, Commodore Jerome Castelino, VSM. On this occasion three new members were inducted into the club.
 

K. Suresh Prabhu, Prof. Wilfred D’Souza and Shridhar Shenava in their messages appreciated the activities undertaken by the Lions Club of Moodubelle. Elias Lobo, the member of the Lions Club of Moodubelle presented Appreciation Resolution to the district governor.

 
Lioness Flossy Braganza recited the prayer, Nelson D’Silva, secretary of the Lions Club of Moodubelle proposed the vote of thanks and Leo Jovita compeered the programme.
 

Following the stage programme, the students who use the Lions Seva Bhavan for their Karate training presented Karate skills to the great applause of those who were present on this occasion.
