Abu Dhabi, 21 Nov 2012 (Daijiworld): In an unfortunate incident, Mangalorean Prashant Pinto ( 38) passed away at Musaffah, Abu Dhabi on Saturday November 17 in a road accident. His body was identified by his brother Prakash Pinto on Wednesday November 21 at an Abu Dhabi hospital morgue.

Prashant who hails from Derebail parish is the husband of Tina Pinto and son of Henry and Cynthia Pinto of Merthi Prakash Estate, Bilalkoppa.

It is learnt that Prashant, who lived alone in a studio flat in the Mussafah area of Abu Dhabi went missing since Saturday evening. All efforts to locate him went in vain. With the help of the police, they first entered his flat through the window and found the fan and laptop on and the mobile on charge. It was assumed that Prashant had gone out for his normal evening walk and could not have gone far. However, there was no trace of him .

Prashant’s brother Prakash confirmed that the police informed him that he was fatally run over by a vehicle driven by a UAE national, close to his building on Saturday evening. Prashant apparently died on the spot. The driver has been arrested and his vehicle impounded. However, as Prashant did not have any identification on his self, it was not until Wednesday that they located and identified his body in the hospital morgue.

Prashant leaves behind his wife, son, parents, three brothers and two sisters.

May the soul of Prashant rest in eternal peace and give all the comfort to his family members and friends. My advice to all that always carry an ID whenever you are out and especially when you are in a foreign land. Even if had his cell phone on him the police could have found some clue.
