Mangalore: Fruits distributed to poor children on Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary

Mangalore, 20 Nov 2012: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, former prime minister of India, fruits were distributed to poor school children in a programme organized under the leadership of J.R. Lobo on November 19, 2012 at Infant Mary Ashram, Kulshekar.
Speaking at this programme, J.R. Lobo explained how Mrs. Indira Gandhi in her life time spread the sentiment of love especially towards the poor and marginalized sections of the Indian society. Her chief mission was to uplift the poor and the deprived from the curse of poverty. Thus, Mrs. Indira Gandhi laid the foundation of progress and development. Under her leadership India emerged as a strong nation and even challenged the enemies of India by winning wars. Her foresight and leadership made India a great nation in the eyes of the world. Lobo appealed the students to understand the happenings in the nation and participate in the nation building activities.
Fruits were distributed to more than 100 students.
AICC member VV Mohan, KPCC former secretary Mohammad Badruddin, youth leader Denis D’Silva, Henmant Garodi, Nazir Bajal, Jayakar Samartha, Asif and others were present for the programme.
