Udupi: Sadananda Gowda hopes that Yeddyurappa will not leave BJP

Udupi, 18 Nov 2012: “In order to keep Congress and JD(S) away from power in Karnataka, BJP is dependent  on Yeddyurappa, that is why BJP is reluctant to take any disciplinary action against him”. This statement was made by the former chief minister of Karnataka D.V. Sadananda Gowda while speaking to journalist at Udupi.

 

Speaking further, Sadananda Gowda said  that there is no dispute that Yeddyurappa is good organizer and an able administrator.  The people of Karnataka do not need either  Congress or JD(S). The state requires BJP. Hence, Yeddyurappa should lead the party in the state, opined  the former chief minister.

 

In a veiled reference to Yeddyurappa’s intention to leave the party and start a new party, Sadananda Gowda said that we have examples of the fate of those who had left established political parties and  established their own parties. Under these circumstances, even if Yeddyurappa has gone quite far away from the BJP, there are no impediments for his return. He knows very well the way to come back to the party.

 

 

Sadananda Gowda further said that Yeddyurappa has been taking certain decisions because of the advice of some of his close supporters. If he introspects, he will find that he is being given wrong advice by his so called supporters.

 

Speaking further, Sadananda Gowda said that even if Yeddyurappa has crossed the party disciplinary action, taking into account the present condition of the state that even though Yeddyurappa has crossed the ‘Lakshman Rekha’ it is important to retain the leader by giving up any plan of taking disciplinary action against him. There should not be any opportunity to take disciplinary action against those supporters of Yeddyurappa. Gowda said that in the rally of Karnatakaa Janata Party (KJP) that is proposed to be held on December 9, 2012at Haveri, no BJP leaders or MLAs will take part.  This has become clear from the proceedings of the Core Committee meeting held on Saturday, November 17, 2012. On the other hand there are efforts to prvent Yeddyurappa from leaving the party and constituting a new political outfit in the state.

 

Sadananda Gowda said further that Yeddyurappa has assured that he will not precipitate any crisis that would lead to the collapse of the BJP government in Karnataka as there are hardly 5 to 6 months left for the next elections in the state. Hence, the present government will complete its term, said Gowda.
