Mangalore, 22 Oct 2012 (TOI): When most people in the city rush home after a day’s work, 50-year-old Corrine Rasquinha goes to railway stations, bus stops and other places in search of the poor and the hungry and serves them free food. For the past 18 years, this has been the routine of this political science postgraduate.

Every day she serves free food to poor patients in government hospitals and over 60 labourers who come to the city in search of greener pastures.

A breast cancer and Hepatitis B survivor, Rasquinha visits hospitals and interacts with cancer patients to help them overcome their fear of death. She also provides financial assistance to children battling cancer, helps them complete their education and also pays medical bills of several poor patients.

To carry forward her activities she founded White Doves, a non-governmental organization. The NGO runs two homes for the destitute in the district and at present, it gives shelter, food and medical treatment to 85 people. Rasquinha also takes time out to reunite the destitute with their families. So far, she has reunited 45 persons with their families in Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, Kolkata and other places.

With the help of like-minded people she has built six houses for the poor and two more houses are under construction.

Feels good to hear of such a deed from a person. In fact I was looking for such people when i got married because I didnt want to waste the food that was prepared for the weddings, and neither did I want to have the food given to aunts and uncles and family etc. But I couldn t because of the marriage preparations etc. I would rather feed the poor than the spectators of the weddings. Mrs. Corrine you could promote your NGO at all the weddings, christenings, gatherings etc that are scheduled throughout Mangalore/Goa. Its that time of the year when these are very active. Good deeds are slow to be acknowledged. Keep it up, definitely would like to have your contact details. Please share it with all so we could help your NGO.

This is indeed what Jesus has said, " what you do to my little brothers, you do it for me..." Madam corin and her team has been doing wonderful service in the name of Jesus. I say this,as I have personally seen visiting theeir centres. Great servie are small words. They deserve all support and encouragement.

"Whatever you do (good) to the least of my brethren you do it to me" (Mathew 25:40). This also implies "Whatever you do (bad) to the least of my brethren you do it to me". And third implication is \"whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me." I have sinned through my own fault in what I have done and what I have failed to do. That is our faith.
