Moodubelle: Direct Bus Service from Moodubelle to Bangalore inaugurated

Moodubelle, 17 Oct 2012: There is good news for people from Moodubelle and surrounding regions working and residing in Bangalore as well as those in Moodubelle  that from today they can travel directly from Bangalore to Moodubelle  and from Moodubelle to Bangalore. This long standing need of the people of the area has been fulfilled by inaugurating direct luxury bus service from Moodubelle to Bangalore on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 8.30 pm in the church premises.

 

In a brief function,  Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes did Ashirvachan and blessed the exterior and interior of the bus by sprinkling holy water. In his brief message, Devdas Hebbar, former president of the Udupi Taluk Panchayat said that for the development of any village, transport system is very essential. Belle is well connected with Udupi as well as Karkala. However, there was a great need for the people from Moodubelle and surrounding regions to have a direct bus to Bangalore as many people from the region work and reside in Bangalore. Whenever they  come to their home for holidays or week-ends, they have once again travel from Udupi and  go in the night to Udupi  to board the Bangalore bus. Devdas Hebbar complimented all those who were responsible for starting the direct bus service  from Moodubelle to Bangalore and hoped that similar service would be started to Mumbai and back.

 

 

It was chiefly due to the efforts of Ramesh Shetty, proprietor of Siddhi Vinayak Service Station, Maxim D’Sa of Primax Services and Sudhakar Amin of Latha Stores that the direct bus service to Bangalore from Moodubelle became a reality.   They contacted  Pragati Tourist Corporation, Bangalore and after relentless efforts finally got the transport company to agree to their request. The Pragati Bus would start daily from Moodubelle  at 8.30 pm with pick-up facilities at Dendoorkatte, Kukkikatte and Korangrapadi. From Udupi, the bus would proceed to Bangalore and take Route Number 5 once it reaches Bangalore.

 

Maxim D’Sa compeered the programme and welcomed the guests and Sudhakar Amin proposed the vote of thanks and hoped that people would take advantage of the service and see to it that the direct bus service from Moodubelle to Bangalore would continue.
