Udupi: South Kanara Photographers’ Association Udupi Zone’s new office bearers take charge

Udupi, 02 oct 2012: The function of formally taking charge of the office bearers of South Kanara Photographers’ Association (SKPA)Udupi Zone’s new office bearers was held on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 3 pm in Shesh Nayana Hall of Kidiyur Hotel in Udupi.

 

Prior to the stage programme the Photographic Exhibition was inaugurated by Bhuvandendra Kidiyur, Managing Director of Hotel Kidiyur Private Limited. Vasudeva Rao President of SKPA presided over the function. The guests of honour included Jayaprakash hedge, MP from Udupi-Chikmagalur Constituency, U.R. Sabhapati, former MLA of Udupi, M. Junjanna, Information Officer of Udupi District, Kiran Manjanabailu, President of  Udupi District Working Journalists Society, H.V. Pravin, Wildlife Photographer from Bangalore, Navin Rai Puttur, Chief Secretary SKPA District Committee and  Janardhana Kodavooru, Secretary of SKPA, District Committee.

 

 

The new office bearers of SKPA Udupi Zone who took charge are:  Sundara Poojary-President, Mithra Kumar-Chief Secretary, Manjunatha Devadiga-Treasurer. These new office bearers took charge from the outgoing office bearers, Shridhar Shettigar-Presdient, Dhananjay poojary-Chief Secretary, Anish Shettigar-Treasurer. Raghava Padmashali is the honorary president.

 

During the function the following members were felicitated: Shivarama Kadaba-former Presdient of SKPA; Jagdush Jain-former chief secretary, Damodar- former treasurer, Shridhar Shettigar-outgoing president and Anand Bantwal-former secretary. Besides these former office bearers of SKPA two eminent personalities were also honoured for their social work. These are:  Annappa-Director of Hebri Belanje Special Children’s Ashram and Gururaj Bhagwat-Eye Specialist from Kidiyur, Udupi.

 

The active  elderly members of the  SKPA honoured during this function include: Shiva K. Amin of Adarsh Studio, Kemmannu, B. Krishna, Basant Studio, Malpe, Navin Ballal, Navin Studio, Udupi, Jayakar Suvarna, Suvarna Studio, Adi Udupi and Vasudeva Acharya, Kiran Studio Udupi.

 

At the beginning of the function, prayer was recited by Padigaru Lakshminarayan Upadhyaya; Jayakar Suvrana gave introductory  address, Shridhar Shettigar welcomed the guests,  Dhananjay Poojary proposed the vote of thanks and Raghavendra Sherigar and Mrs. Sushma Ratan Shetty compeered the programme.
