Kuwait: ’Singing Superstar’ an Event to Showcase Singing Talents

Kuwait, 01 Oct 2012: After the success of “Dhoom Machale" with the dance India dance fame choreographer Terence Lewis, Indian Youth Society-Kuwait presented "Singing Superstar" a multilingual singing competition on 27th September 2012 at 8.30 pm at Kuwait Medical Association Auditorium, Jabriya Kuwait.  Vasundhara Das- A dynamic Indian Actress & Singer was judge for the finalists.

 

The program started with formal welcome by president Shabbir Qamar followed by grand entry by judge of the day Vasundara Das.  Then Shabbir introduced compere of the day Somnath Karmakar who is also a mimicry artist.  He entertained the audience with the voices of different Bollywood actors.  The competition started with senior category where Kevin Koshy Jacob, Poornima Anna Dominic, Tojan Varghese Mathew, Paridhi Garg, Andrea Petula D’Souza and Aleena Rehan performed to impress the judge and audience.

 

Indian Idol finalist Rajdeep Chatterjee entertained the audience with some selected numbers.  Little kids entertained the audience with their dances which reminded the festive season of Sri Krishna Janmastemi.  Rib tickling jokes were performed by Rehman Khan, the stand up comedian, who was seen in ’Laughter Challenge 3", ’Punjabi Chakde", ’Comedy Champion", ’Dekh India Dekh", ’Raju Haazir Ho", ’Chinchpokli to China", ’Bade Miya Chota Miya" and so many other comedy shows on tv.

 

Sponsors of the event were honored with flower bouquets.  A souvenir to mark the event was released by Dr. Nuna Goel along with other sponsors.  Audition judges, Akash Panwar and other members of Indian Youth Society were also honored for their contribution.

 

 

In Junior category Julia Anil Thevalakar, Rinie Mariam Lal, Vineeth A Joseph, Reeves Thomas George, Moses kurian Mathew, Ramisa Nawal, Merlin Abraham and Kishan Paul raja performed for the title.  As expected Super Senior category entertained the audience maximum where Noufal kacheri valappil, Neelima Elsa Dominic, Vishal Kumar Bhatiani, Subhashish Bhattacharya, Khalifa Abdulaziz, Urooj Shaikh, Jaya Dheeraj, Anuj Singhal and Abdul Gafoor MK performed with full spirit for the title.

 

Finally the result was declared by Vasundhara Das which was accepted and appreciated well by both contestants and audience.  In Junior category, Julia Anil Thevalakar bagged first place whereas Vineeth A Joseph and Kishan Paul raja shared the second place.  In senior category Poornima Anna Dominic was runner up whereas Tojan varghese Mathew declared as winner.  In super senior category Neelima Elsa Dominic won the title for her voice and technically perfect song and Jaya Dheeraj was runner up for her most appreciated performance.  The program came to an end with performances by Vasundara Das and Rajdeep Chatterjee.

 

The Indian Youth Society was established by the initiative of a bunch of young Indians with the purpose of creating a youth revolution. The society has been successful in amassing wide popularity amongst the youth of Kuwait and in spreading the Indian Culture amongst the people of Kuwait.  The main attraction of the competition and the show is that the participants could perform in any possible language.
