Mangalore: Konkani Natak Sabha celebrates its 69th Annual Day

Mangalore, 25 Sep 2012: Konkani Natak Sabha ® Mangalore celebrated its 69th Anniversary day on 23rd September 2012 at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore. Ex President of Mand Soban Mr Louis Pinto was the chief guest, Managing Director of Western Institute of Technology Mr Walter Stephen Mendes was the guest of Honour. Central Sahitya Akademi Award winner Mr Melvyn Rodrigues, drama Writer, Director as well as the actor Mr Benna Ruzai and Drama Actor Mr Charles Sequeira were felicitated on this special occasion with shawl, Man Patr, fruits and momentoo. “Bharath Jyothi and Glory of India Gold Medal winner” Vice President of Konkani Natak Sabha Gretta Rebello was also felicitated on this occasion.

 

Speaking on this occasion Melvyn Rodrigues thanked the Konkani Natak Sabha for felicitating him and expressed his love, attachement and past experience of Konkani Plays which were played at Don bosco hall. Speaking after receiving the honour Benna Ruzai expressed his view requesting Konkani Natak Sabha to play three dramas social, spiritual and historical every year.

 

 

Chief guest Lewis Pinto, former president of Mand Sobhan and Guest of honour Walter Stephen Mendis, Managing Director of Western Institute of Technology also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the Konkani Natak Sabha and urged to continue the spirit of its activities and programmes.

 

Vice President Gretta Rebello, welcomed the gathering and Joint Secretary Jerald Concessao thanked and General Secretary Sunil Menezes, read over a brief Annual report of Konkani Natak Sabha, Treasurer Dolphy Saldanha was on the dias.

 

A Konkani Social Comedy Drama ‘Kon Ulaitha’, written by Nellu Permanur and directed by Dolla Mangalore was staged. A full of crowd in the hall enjoyed the programme to the maximum.
