Riyadh: Aangann Kutam Celebrates Monthi Fest

Riyadh, 09 Sep 2012: Aangann Konknechem Riyadh celebrated Monthi Fest on Friday September 7.
The new corn (novem) was brought from Mangalore and delicious homemade vegetarian meal consisting of allum-dhento, thoushya karamb, sango, podwalen, karathe, thendlim, ghosalim, benda, moog,  sonno, sanna, shoyo and vorn was served to all in banana leaves. This dinner was prepared by the Mangalorean community residing here.

 

Roshan Lobo Secretary of AKR welcomed the gathering & conducted the entire Program. Alfred Fernandes Sirsi spreader The Word Of God,  Veera Barboza Shirva led the prayer service through the hymn ‘Sokkod Sangatha Mellyam’ and ‘Moryek Hogollsiyam’. Saritha  D’Souza Palimar spoke few words about the traditional Noven Jevan.

Entertainment programmes were also organized on the occasion. Caron( Nanna) D’Souza, Michelle Mascarenhas,  danced to their best. Games were conducted by Nirmala Coreyo , Victoria D’Souza Mangalore, Veera Barboza Shirva and Zameera Rodregues Goa  . Houssie was conducted by Conrad Nazareth Mangalore. Kobu (sugarcane) & Sweet  given to all. At last Pot Breaking & Valley Ball games held.
