G. Shankar does the work of Government – Eshwarappa

Udupi, 04 September 2012: Only some persons are putting their efforts for the development of poor people. Among such persons Entrepreneur G. Shankar is in first place and by helping the poor people for education and distributing the health cards, he is doing the work which was suppose to have been done by the government, said Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarayya, expressing appreciation.
He was speaking upon inaugurating the Manipal Health Cards distribution program by G. Shakar Family Trust on Saturday. Speaking further Eshwarayya said that, people can do yoga, physical exercise and maintain their health; such people do not require the need to go to hospital. Consider this card as an wakeup call, do not desire to use this card, instead do yoga and keep away from sickness, he opinioned.
In his introductory speech G. Shankar said that, every year the number of card holders is increasing. Earlier there were 2,000 beneficiaries were using these cards, today there are 75,000 beneficiaries using these cards, he said. From this year we have planned to organize a program along with the district administration to award the teachers on 5th September, said G. Shankar.
The program was presided over by Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat. On the dias District In Charge Minister Kota Shrinivasa Poojary, MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Finance Committee President A.G. Kodgi, Manipal University Vice Chancellor H.S. Ballal, MLAs Lalaji R. Mendon, Gopala Bhandary, Laxminarayana, Jilla Panchayath President Katpadi Shankara Poojary, Former MLA U.R. Sabhapathi, Entrepreneurs Pramod Madhwaraj and Anand C. Kundar, Mogaveera United President Thimma Murakala were present.
Mogavera Yuva Sanghatana President Jaya C. Kotyan welcomed the guests and the gathering. Vice President Shivaram K.M. compeered the program. Chief Secretary Ganesh Kanchan Halady proposed vote of thanks.
