Mangalore: CPI-M organizes rally against the ‘misrule’ of BJP Government

Mangalore, 27 August 2012: Communist Party of India (Marxist) organized a protest rally in front of the Mangalore Municipal Council on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11 am against the ‘misrule’ of the BJP Government. The processions started from different areas of the city such as Kankanady, Yeyyadi, State Bank and Urwa Store at 10 am which converged in front of the Municipal Corporation, Lalbagh.
The protestors were demanding basic amenities to the people of the city. The grievances of the people were listed in leaflets that were distributed liberally to the passersby which included privatization of drinking water, increase in rate and unsatisfactory bill-reading; unrestrained builder mafia; lack of street lights, repairs of roads; uncontrolled corruption in the corporation etc.
