Moodubelle: Parents’-Teachers’ Association formed in St. Lawrence College

Moodubelle, 07 August 2012: The first ever meeting of the Parents’-Teachers’ Association of St. Lawrence Degree College, Moodubelle was held in  the college hall on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 3.15 pm.

 

The meeting began with the prayer song sung by two staff members-Mrs. Saritha D’Souza and Ms. Kusuma Makwan. Commodore Jerome Castelino, the Dean of the College, in his introductory address briefed the parents about the facilities provided to the students and the academic progress made since the inauguration of the B.A. and B.Com. courses on June 16, 2012. He pointed out that very soon a computer lab will be put up with the help of two generous donors, which would provide computer education to the students along with their academic studies.

 

 

The Correspondent of the College, Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes appreciated the progress of the college and complimented the Dean, Principal and staff members for their dedication and hard work in imparting quality education. He urged the parents to cooperate with the college administration and teaching staff in achieving the aims and objectives  of the college.

 

There was an healthy interaction between the teaching staff and the parents  following which a Committee comprising of five parents was unanimously constituted. The office bearers of the Committee are: Mrs. Rita Castelino (President), Mrs. Asha Kulal (Secretary), Mrs. Diana Machado, Mr. Victor Machado and Mr. Prabhakar Acharya (Committee Members).

 

Mrs. Saitha D’Souza compeered the programme and Principal, Dr. Eugene D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
