M’lore: Workshop on teachers competency development

Mangalore, 30 Jul 2012: The Mangala Alumni Association (MAA), an old students association of Mangalore University has organized two-day workshop on "Teachers Competency Development" and on "Student Counseling" for students and teaching faculties of colleges at Maps College in the city on August 2.
The objective of the workshop is to train teachers on techniques of student counseling since student life is getting more complicated day after day due to numerous reasons and around 80 teaching faculties from different colleges are expected to take part in this programme, said Dinesh Kumar Alva, president of MAA.
The workshop also focuses on issues related to curricular and co-curricular subjects to enhance the quality of education and about teaching profession, he said. Father Muller Medical College chief of medical services Dr Sanjeeva Rai will inaugurate the event in Mangalore. MAA has also organized one-day workshop on "Teachers Competency Development" for teaching faculties at MGM College in Udupi on August 25.
Mangala Alumni Association was established in 2007 by alumni of MU.
