Udupi: Grand Reception to minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary

Udupi, 18 July 2012: Visiting Udupi for the first time after becoming the Minister for Muzarai, Port, Inland Transport and District In charge, Kota Srinivasa Poojary made quick visits to the various temples of the district and the party offices. Arriving in the afternoon at 3.00 pm to Hejamadi the Udupi – D.K. district border, the minister was welcomed by Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, BJP District President Udayakumar Shetty and the other members of the party.

 

As bellevision reporter followed Kota Srinivasa Poojary, he then visited Kaup Billava Sangha, Katapadi Billava Sangha offices and then visited Kaup Vishvanatha Temple. Then he arrived at the Sri Burunarayana Temple in Bannanje Udupi.

 

 

In the evening at 5.00 pm he received felicitation from the Udupi district BJP, and then he went of BJP district office and conducted discussion with the party leaders. Later he went to Krishna Mutt and had darshan of Lord Sri Krishna and then he went to Venkataramana Temple. At this time he visited the house of late Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya whom he considers as his political guru as learned by bellevision. He fell to the feet of Shanta V. Acharya and received her blessings. Dr. Acharya’s family honoured him with shawl.

 

Renovation of old Temples is priority – Kota

Among the 36,000 temples in the state about 25,000 temples are in very bad shape. Hence, priority will be given for the renovation of these temples and the managing these temples by the devotees themselves, said the new Muzarai, Port, Inland Transport and District In charge Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary. He was speaking in Udupi upon receiving the felicitation from District BJP and local organizations on Tuesday evening.

 

Speaking further he said that, in order to renovate these temples Dr. V.S. Acharya had implemented religious act 2010. Implementing this further is my responsibility, he said. The temples in Udupi and D.K. districts are in good condition if compared to the temples of other districts in the state. Hence, for the purpose of implementing this act to the temples of all other districts, I have been given the responsibility of Muzarai department, it was told, said Kota Srinivasa Poojary to bellevision. In BJP even a common party worker is being identified and responsibility is being given and this has been proved by making me as the minister, he said.

 

 

In his felicitation speech State BJP Vice President Nalin Kumar Kateel said that, Kota who was born in a poor family has become minister not with the strength of money, but with the submittal with simple attitude, he appreciated. Udupi MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat in his introductory speech said that, this was the seat of Dr. Acharya, fulfilling the responsibilities in this seat will be a great challenge to Kota.

 

The program was presided over by BJP District President Udayakumar Shetty. On the dias new Vidhana Parishat Member Monappa Bhandary, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Vidhana Parishat Member Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Baindoor MLA Laxminarayana, Yuva Morcha State President Sunil Kumar, Mahila Morcha District President Reshma Udayakumar, Jilla Panchayath President Katpadi Shankara Poojary, Municipal President Kiran Kumar and others were present.
