Kaup: Develop villages, country will develop

Belapu, 24 June 2012: For the development of the country, the development of the villages should be the basic mantra. Without the development works done at the village level, no plans of the country development will be successful, said Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swameeji of Puttige Mutt. He was speaking in his aheervachana during the various programs organized in Belepu Grama on Saturday.
There should be no room for any politics in Grama Panchayath level. If there are groups among the people’s representatives then there will be politics, but if there is cooperation then the development will take place and for this Belapu Grama Panchayath is the best example, he said with appreciation. On this occasion Sri released the CD on the development programs taken place in Belapu Grama and then he inaugurated the Vanamahotsava.
The school text book containing the lesson on Belapu Grama for the 5th standard students, was released by Kaup MLA Lalaji R. Mendon. He announced on the proposal submitted to the government on starting a Pre University College in Belapu Grama. The saplings from the Forest department were distributed by Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary. The seeds for farming were distributed by former Minister Vasantha V. Saliyan.
Chief guests on the occasion were Vidhana Parishad Member Kota Shrinivasa Poojary, Jilla Panchayath Member Arunkumar Shetty Padoor, Janapada Scholar K.L. Kundanthaya, Deputy Forest Officer Ganesh Rai, Deputy Forest Officer Manjunatha Shetty, Jilla Jalanayana Officer G.L. Ashok, Farming Officer Sanjay and Education Officer Vasantha Shetty.
The program was presided over by Belapu Grama Panchayath President Deviprasad Shetty. Ramakrishna Rao, Member of School text book committee member who wrote the lesson of Belapu Grama was honoured on the occasion by Puttige Sri. Panchayath Development Officer Appu Sherigar welcomed the guests and the gathering and also proposed vote of thanks.
