Udupi: Muhurtham of Kannada commercial film ’Mahanadi’ held at Hotel Kediyoor

Udupi, 14 May 2012: Based on a story of Fisher Women of Coastal Canara, The muhurat for the Kannada commercial film Mahanadi was held in Hotel Kediyoor’s Sheshashayana Hall here on Sunday May 13.. Shiroor Math’s Shri Laxmivara Tirtha Swamiji inaugurated the movie by lighting the traditional lamp. Neermarga parish priest Fr Godfrey Saldanha gave a start on to  the camera. Enterpreneur Pramod Madhwarj sounded the clapboard for the first scene.

 
 
This movie is produced by famous business man of Udupi Jerry Vincent Dias and his son Glen Dias at the cost of  Rs 5 crore-plus budget is being made by JJ Cine Production.

 

 

 
Speaking on the occasion the Shiroor Swamiji said that movies should convey significant messages to evolve a healthy society and also show morals and ethics to the audience, and wished all success to the movie.

 
The movie will be directed by state awardee director Krishnappa Uppoor who was present along with Santekatte Mount Rosary Church  parish priest Fr Philip Neri, former MLA U R Sabhapati, Manipal University vice chancellor H S Ballal, KPCC member M A Gafoor, entrepreneurs Pramod Madhwaraj, Purushottam Shetty, Manohar Shetty and Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Mahanadhi movie producer Jerry Vincent Dias, Glen Dias, movie’s hero Dilip Raj, heroine Sanjana were present on the occasion.
 

The rest of the cast is made of Rangayana Raghu, Loknath, Shobhraj, Venkatadri, Padmini Prakash, Malati Sardeshpande, Varshini, Muni, Rakesh, Dharmendra Aras, Gururaj Hoskote, Vincent, Raviraj Udupi, M S Bhat, Damodar Suvarna, Raghuraj, Astro Mohan, Dr Sukanya Martis, Shainy Shetty, Shilpa Shetty, Ranjita, Pradeepchandra V G Pal, Dr Vijayendra, Ravi Korangrapady, Avinash Kamath, Sreepada and Bhaskar Manipal.
 

The producer Vincent Dias welcomed the cast of the film and wished them good luck and the director Uppoor Krishnappa spoke on the occasion and explained story of the movie in brief.
