Grand Finale to the Don Bosco Summer Club at Shirva

Shirva, 12 May 2012: The 18 day Summer club program organized by Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shirva witnessed a grand finale on Thursday, 10th May 2012.  The club was organized by the Salesian Fathers and Brothers of Don Bosco for the children from 3rd to 10th std. 

 
Upcoming lead singer and composer of Konkani music, Kevin Misquith was the guest of honour along with V. Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro, the Parish Priest of Shirva Parish.  Fr. Stany Tauro, presenting the honors to the children for the successful completion of coaching in Music, Dance, Art and English-speaking, lauded the efforts of Salesian Fathers, Brothers and Young Volunteers for coming up with such an apt program for the children during their vacation.

 

 

 
Mr. Kevin Misquith, whose presence was an inspiration to the children, was felicitated by Fr. Maxim D’Souza sdb, the Rector of the Institution and President of the function.  Mr. Misquith encouraged the children to put in hard efforts in whatever they are learning and make best use of the opportunities they get. 

 
The coaches, volunteers, donors were thanked and felicitated by Fr. Augustine Fernandes sdb.  The club children put up a fine performance of all the skills they learnt during the course of the summer club.  Hundreds of enthusiastic parents and well wishers of the institution witnessed a beautiful unfolding of dance, drama & music.  The entire program was coordinated by Bro. Merwyn Fernandes and Bro. Kiran Nazareth with the assistance of Bro. Michael, Bro. Prashanth, 24 young volunteers under the guidance of Fr. Maxim.
