Trishna Quiz Festival – CETAA lifts Overall Championship

Kuwait, 23 April 2012: College of Engineering Trivandrum, Alumni Association - Kuwait Chapter (CETAA) was declared the overall champions at the Quiz festival organized by the National Institute of Technology, Calicut - Alumni Association (NITCAA) held on 20th April 2012 at Cambridge English School, Mangaf. Named as “Trishna”, a Sanskrit word meaning quest, it was the 6th consecutive year that NITCAA Kuwait chapter organized the Quiz festival.

 

Teams representing the eight alumni associations of engineers of Kerala origin participated in the competition. Competitions were held in three groups namely Junior, Senior and Family Rounds. The following are the winners in each group;

 

 

Juniors: Mathew Gigi George & Rohan Saji John  of CETAA (First place), Aditya Ashok& Athul Suresh Krishnan of TECAA (Second place) and Devayani  M & Elisa Mariam John of TKMCEAA (Third place).

 

Seniors: Rohan Paul & Martha Rinnah Bijou of MACEAA (First place), Geethu Treesa Mattam & Sara Afreen of CETAA (Second place) and Jeff Ivan & Nitin Nirmal of NITCAA (Third place).

 

Family Round: Ramesh N. Athreya, Susmitha Sunil & Abhishek Menon of KEA (First place); Karthikeyan R,  Jithisha Sreejith & Rithwik Karthikeyan of NSSCEAA (Second Place); John Philipose V, Dr.Brighty Thomas & Merin Jose V of CETAA (Third place).

 

Conducted by the famous Indian Quiz Master Mr.Venkatesh Srinivasan, the program was enjoyed by the packed audience who also got ample opportunities to participate and win prizes.

 

The prizes were distributed to winners of the on-line monthly and weekly quiz from June 2011 the week preceding Trishna 6. For the monthly quiz, Kalesh.K of NSSCEAA, Reghunath T.N. of AECK and Sabrina.K.M of TKMCEAA won the overall 1st ,2nd and 3 prize respectively whereas in the weekly online quiz,  Shibu K. John of TKMCEAA, Surya Murali of KEA and Mathew C.V. of TECAA won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd   Mega prize.

 

Mr. Jacob George Thomas, General Convener of Kuwait Engineer’s Forum (KEF) & Mr Balasubramanian V. A., GC Elect of KEF were the guests of honor. On behalf of NITCAA, the program was managed by its President Ananda Subramani Kannan, General Secretary George P. Joseph & the Program Convener Moti David.
