Udupi: Police bust gang and foil murder plot

Udupi, 22 April 2012: Udupi district Police in their crucial crackdown foiled the plot for murdering of 3 persons including a entrepreneur couple. Rowdy Sheeter Golden Suresh who is required by the various Police Stations of the State in 11 different cases of murder and robberies, had called 13 people for the murder of couple Mahendra and Anupama of Shanthinagar, Manipal and their relative Shabarisha. Out of these 13, the police have arrested 11 persons and have put them in jail.

 
Revenging for an argument taken place in last month, Golden Suresh had given supari to Rowdy  Sheeter Kabir of Fakirkatte, near Kaup and accordingly Kabir had sent 13 persons to Manipal. Based on a confirmed information received by Manipal Police Station Inspector Sadananda, Udupi SP Dr. Boralingayya had formed 3 teams for this operation.

 
When these accused came in a Maruthi Omni, Alto and two bikes near Sigma Bar, Inspector Sadananda and his team stopped them and arrested 8 of the accused. In their cars there were 2 swords and as said by the accused those were given to them by Bashir of Mallaru Grama.

 

 
In another place in Manipal Industrial area, Udupi CPI Girish and his team identified a Omni car with 5 people in it and followed. When the accused tried to attack the Police with the swords, Girish and Traffic SI from the team shot 3 rounds in the air and arrested 3 persons, 2 were escaped.

 
So in total 11 accused have been arrested and they were identified as Shakil Ahmed Alevoor, Zakir Husain Kukkikatte, Santhosh Poojary Bailoor, Harish Kharwi Gangoli, Guruprasad Shetty Alevoor, Ravikiran Athradi, Manchi Salim Alevoor, Mahesh Poojary Gangoli, Mustafa Pakshikere Haleyangadi, Bashir Fakiranakatte Kaup, Sudhir Poojary Batwadi Kundapura.

 
Those who ran away are Jalil and Fayarnar Zafar. Prime accused Golden Suresh and Kabir are absconding. Among these accused, Suresh 11, Jalil 6, Salim 8, Guruprasad Shetty 6, were required by the police for so many murder and robbery crimes. Kabir is accused for a murder.

 
From the arrested accused 2 cars, 5 swords, 13 mobile and 2 bikes have been taken into custody by the police. On the accused, the cases of murder attempt of 3 persons, plot to rob gold jewellery, attempted murder of Ploice and obstruction of duty has been registered.

 
In this operation, one team was comprising of Udupi Dy.SP Dr. Prabhudeva Mane, Madhu T.S. and team from City Police Station, in the second team Udupi Circle Inspector Girish S., Traffic SI Amanulla and team and in the third team Manipal Inspector Sadananda and team had participated.

 
Appreciating the operation of the team which has saved the public lives and property, State DGP A.R. Infant has announced Rs. 25 thousands and Udupi SP has announced Rs. 15 thousands.
