Karnataka Bank launches ‘An Account For A House’ programme

Moodubelle, 21 March 2012: The Karnataka Bank Limited Branch of Kattingeri-Moodubelle conducted Savings Bank Account opening campaign at US Nayak Government Aided High School, Patla recently with the intention of infusing awareness of future banking needs of the students.
As a step to reach the goal of financial inclusiveness to all sections of the society, The Karnataka Bank has adopted the motto of “an account for a house”. As a result of this programme, the Karnataka Bank has opened account of all students in the US Nayak Government Aided High School, Patla. The Manager of the Karnataka Bank, Kattingeri-Moodubelle Branch and John D’Almeida were present during the programme.

Eventhough I am in Delhi, working in Emaar MGF Land Limited, it gave me lot of pleasure to read and to know that the happenings in Patla (where I have studied since first standard till 7th) then St. Lawrence High School Moddubelle. Yes, instilling money management skills early is laudable; but, how does the bank take care of legality of transactions by a minor? Do they need a guardian and if so till what age? |
