Kaup, 20 April 2010: Addressing a large rally as the chief speaker of the day at the Bangle Ground at Kaup on Thursday, 15th April 2010 on the occasion of the District Rally of the Social Democratic Party of India, E. Abu Bakr, the National President of the party said that the Congress has been banking on the votes of the Muslims and other minority communities as well as the Dalits to come to power and promising to work for their development. However, over the years it has been found that the Congress has not kept its promises and has been fooling the people in the name of progress and development. Thus, he made an appeal at the rally that “We must work for our own progress.” Speaking further he said that the Social Democratic Party can work for the people if it acquired political power. He also lambasted the opportunistic politics followed by different political parties and pointed out the need to work for the betterment of the minorities and the Dalits.
The rally was attended by the National Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of India, C.R. Imthiaz, State Unit President, Abdul Majid Kodipete, Vice President, Prof. Nazneen Begum, Udupi District President, Secretary, Ibrahim Katapadi, Abdul Rehman Malpe, State Secretary, Abdul Hunnan Mandya, State Committee Membeer, Hemlatha, Sullia Constituency President, G. Kalam, District Committee Member, Abu Bakr Padoor, Munir Saheb Kandloor, Hamid Ghulam Uchhila, Dildar Hamzad Bhatkala, and other leaders were also present on this occasion.
Udupi District President, Abdul Rehman Malpe welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction of the rally, Udupi District Secrtary, Ibrahim Katapadi proposed the vote of thanks and the programme was compeered by Abdul Khadar.
