Shirva: Diabetics is a common decease today – Dr. Chandrashekar

Shirva, 25 January 2012: Today’s human life under pressure, uncontrolled desire and the food habits without any discipline are increasing the number of diabetic cases. For all the sickness diabetic is the main cause, hence everyone must undergo medical checkup at least twice in a year. At one time the diabetic was known as the rich people’s decease is getting converted into common man’s decease today, said Adarsh Hospital’s Managing Director, Cardiologist and Diabetes Consultant Dr. G.S. Chandrashekar.
He was speaking as the chief guest in the inaugural function of the “Free Eye checkup and health checkup camp” in Government Higher Primary School, conducted on the occasion of the Decennial celebration of Padubelle Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Inaugurating the camp by lighting the lamp Udupi Taluk Panchayath President Kattingeri Devadasa Hebbar in his speech said that, in the daily food items adulteration is taking place and the chemical contents are increasing thus in a very young age people get seriously ill. Hence it is important that everyone undergo medical checkup. Vishwa Hindu Parishad along with preservation of the Indian culture also conducting the programs for the benefit of the society is appreciable, he said.
Speaking on the occasion Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon said that, the social work Vishwa Hindu Parishad Padubelle is carrying out since 10 years has been a role model to other organizations. He appreciated Dr. Krishnaprasad of Prasad Netralaya and Dr. Chandrashekar of Adarsh Hospital and their teams and Doctors for their decisions on conducting the yearlong free health and eye check up camp in Kaup constituency.
Other guests and dignitaries present on the dias include; popular Eye Specialist District Rajyotsava awardee Dr. Krishnaprasad, Pamboor Retired Techer Mourice Noronha, Sadambailu Shrinivasa Nayak, Padubelle Kakramane Shrinivasa Shetty, Jilla Panchayath Member Ida Gibba D’Souza, School Headmistress Lalitha B.S.
The program was presided over by Belle Grama Panchayath President Jesintha Aranha. Consultant doctors Dr. Mohandas Shetty, Dr. Zeena D’Souza, Dr. Shaila Nayak, Former President of Belle Grama Panchayath Shashidhara Wagle, R.S.S. Senior Member Kamalaksha Shenoy, B. Bhaskar Shetty were present in the program.
