Udupi: Candidates for Udupi – Chickmagalur MP Election

Udupi, 24 January 2012: The Bunt community have approached BJP to give BJP ticket to their candidate Udayakumar Shetty for the MP seat being made vacant by Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda in Udupi – chickmagalur. When Chief Minister came to Udupi for the occasion of Paryaya on 18th January, his breakfast was arranged in the residence of BJP Jilla President Udayakumar Shetty. When he arrived there a surprise was waiting for him, because more than 30 Bunt leaders were present there.

 

 
Former Municipal President and NRI Entrepreneur B.R. Shetty, Mumbai  Entrepreneur Jayakrishna Shetty and many other leaders have urged that this time the ticket of BJP candidate has to be given to Udayakumar Shetty and they have assured that they are ready to provide all the support required by Udayakumar Shetty.
 
Though the Chief Minister have not mentioned his decision on this, since Udayakumar Shetty is close to the Chief Minister it is guessed this proposal will be succeeded. On this occasion Udupi District In Charge Minister Dr. V.S. Acharya, MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat and other BJP leaders were present in the residence of Udayakumar Shetty.
 
Jayaprakash Hegde from Congress

 

If Udayakumar Shetty gets seat from BJP then it is sure that former Minister Jayaprakash Hegde will be launced from Congress. In Udupi – Chickmagalur constituency among the voter’s population Billava’s are in first position and Bunts are in second position. Hence it is inevitable for Congress to launch Bunt candidate against BJP’s Bunt candidate.
