Shirva: Training camp held on breeding of Goats in sheds

Shirva, 23 January 2012: One day long training camp on breeding of Goats in sheds was conducted in Shirva Rotary Sabhabhavana, Bantakal, Shirva. The training camp was jointly organized by Udupi Taluk Panchayath, Rotary Club Shirva, Veterinary Clinic Shirva, Udupi Taluk and Agricultural Technology Managing Committee Udupi. Inaugurating the training camp Udupi Taluk Panchayath President K. Devadasa Hebbar said that, in today’s situation of the farmers and also the Swasahaya groups can breed the goats and the cows in a scientific method so that they can get maximum benefits.
Animal Care Department Deputy Director Dr. M.T. Manjunath briefed information and suggestions on the various programs and facilities being provided by the Department and Agricultural Technology Committee. Chief Guests present in the program included; Jilla Panchayath Member Ida Gibba D’Souza, Taluk Panchayath President Krishna Poojary, Rotary District Deputy Governor K.R. Patkar, Shirva Grama Panchayath Vice President Mary D’Souza, who spoke on the occasion and called upon the farmers to make use of this camp.
The program was presided over by Shirva Grama Panchayath President Vanita Kamalaksha Shenoy. Shirva Veterinary Medical Officer Dr. Arun Hegde compeered the program and also welcomed the guests and the gathering. Hiriyadka Veterinary Medical Officer Udayakumar Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
In the information program Animal Care Department District Deputy Director Dr. M.T. Manjunath briefed on breeding of goats and the present situation and the job opportunities and various breeds. Dr. Udayakumar Shetty briefed on the accommodation of goats and the various designs of sheds. Udupi Technical Deputy Director Dr. Shivakumar briefed on the food and caring, preservation of food, deceases and the cure. Udupi Veterinary Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Shankar Shetty briefed on the cost of goat breeding and the project reports. In the day long camp, on behalf of the attendees Ganapathi Prabhu Palume and Sharadeshwari spoke. At the end Camp Director Dr. Arun Hegde proposed vote of thanks.
