Summer Camp ‘Chinnara Spurthi Shibira’ Organised at Edmeru

Moodubelle, 11 April 2010: In order to provide entertainment to the school children and develop their hidden talents a one day summer camp known as ‘Chinnara Spurthi Shibira’ was organised on 1st April 2010 at Shri Mahabhaleshwara Hindu Anudhanitha Higher Primary School Edmeru. This camp was conducted by Miss Mallappa Ramdurga, Sachin Poojary and Alwyn D’Souza of the Post Graduate Social Work Department of St. Mary’s College, Shirva.
Mr. Sashidhar Wagle, President of the Belle Grama Panchayat presided over the inaugural programme of the summer camp. Sponsor of the summer camp, Mr. Benedict Martis, lecturers in the Post Graduate Department of Social Work, Mr. Ravindra K. Edmeru School headmaster, Mr. Vivekananda Shetty and the teachers of the school were also present for the programme.
The aim of the summer camp was to make the children aware of their talents and also their environment through games and other activities in which the children could take part. Mr. Devdas Hebbar spoke to the children about the need to plant more tree saplings and look after their growth by regularly watering these saplings. Various sporting, painting and other competitions were arranged for the children.
