Kuwait: KCWA Rejoices in Christmas Party

Kuwait, 10 December 2011: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) celebrated its annual Christmas event “KCWA Christmas Party 2011” with splendid and impressive presentation at Al-Farah hall, Salmiya on Friday 9th December.

 

The event began at 7:00 pm with an introduction by MC’s Dr. Manohar Prabhu & Deepak Andrade, followed by prayer led by Rudy D’Souza. KCWA committee members presented the KCWA theme song. President Stephen Machado welcomed all the dignitaries, guests & members. He thanked the members and well wishers for their wholehearted support for the event.

 

Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the recently held competitions for members and children. Annual merit scholarship awards for member’s children were presented. Mr. Sam & Mrs. Mable Alphonso scholarship awards, Mr. Lawrence D’Souza scholarship awards, Mrs. & Mr. P.V. Saldanha scholarship awards, Late Thomas Castelino scholarship awards and Spinn’s Confectionery Extra Curricular awards were presented. The awards were presented by Fr. Noel Almeida, Stephen Machado and respective sponsors. Anil Fernandes conducted the awards ceremony. Main sponsor Mr. Charles D’Sa and all the sponsors of the event were also felicitated on this occasion. Fr. Noel Almeida gave a befitting Christmas message and praised KCWA for their service towards the poor & needy.

 

 

It was time for fun as the announcement was made for DJ/Dance session. DJ Spinners (Sudhi Fronteiro) played some hot & favorite numbers as all the kids, youngsters & adults danced their hearts out. Number of spot prizes were given away during the various dance sessions. A tableau on Christmas theme was wonderfully presented by Lancy Rodrigues & group. Santa Claus made a grand entry to the much delight of all the children and the crowd. Santa distributed sweets and goodies to all the children.

 

Prominent member of KCWA Mr. Ronald Suares was felicitated for introducing highest number of new members this year. Hamper draw and members draw were held and attractive prizes were given away. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Manohar Prabhu. Fr. Noel led the grace before meals and.delicious dinner was served to all by Caesars Group.

 

The program was concluded at 11.30 pm with a baila session. The whole event was coordinated by Anil Menezes and all other committee members contributed their might to make it a very successful event.
