Pamboor: Church Ward Conducts Jezu Rai Fest Celebration

Pamboor, 23 November 2011: Church ward Pamboor conducted Jezu Rai (Christ the King) fest on Monday 21st November 2011. The program was presided over by Pamboor Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Charles Louis. Udupi Jilla Panchayath Member Ida Gilbert D’Souza was the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Church Pastoral Council Vice President Fredrick Menezes, Secretary Jesintha D’Souza, Convent Superior Sr. Thelma and Lecturer Belle Vincent Alva. The program began with the prayers.

 

Speaking on the occasion Vincent Alva said that, when the human becomes rich and if the proudness and jealousness gets into him, then the relationship among blood relatives breaks and as a result the peace, love and cooperation atmosphere gets destroyed in the village itself. Anyone who implements the message of Christ in his own life can never hate anyone. The group prayers with the clean heart reaches to God. The service done with unity among each other is the greatest fest. Forgiveness is the greatest thing and if that is implemented in our daily life then the human becomes the ambassador of peace, he said.

Ignatius D’Souza, Hilda Henry Mathias, Nancy Ambrose D’Souza, Grecy Lucas D’Souza and Jesintha Cyril Alva who were celebrating their golden birthday initiated the celebration by lighting the five light lamp as per Indian tradition and cut the cake and distributed it to all who were present. Ida John Saldanha who were celebrating the Silver Wedding Anniversary was congratulated. Competitions were held and Tina Mathias declared the names of the winners and the winners were congratulated and given prizes.

 

 

Ward Gurkar Lucas D’Souza welcomed the guests and the gathering and also requested the peoples representatives to attend to the issues of people of this area. Jyothi Pinto compeered the program. Roshni Pinto proposed vote of thanks. Entertainment programs were held. In the program Parish Council Members Antony Martis, Natalia Martis and Ronald Sequeira were present.
