Shirva: Concluding Ceremony of Belle College R.S.Y. Camp

Shirva, 14 October 2011: The one week long Rastriya Seva Yojane camp for the students of St. Lawrence Pre University College Moodubelle, which began on 07th October at St. Mary’s Pre University College Shirva, concluded on 13th October 2011. The concluding program was held on Thursday the last day of the camp at the College Auditorium which began at 10.00 am with prayer by the campers.

 

The program was presided over by Dr. John Clarence Miranda – Principal of St. Mary’s College Shirva. Other guests present on the occasion were; Mrs. Vanitha Shenoy – President of Shirva Grama Panchayath, Mr. Irwin D’Souza - Vice President of Shirva Church Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Edward  Larsen D’Souza  - N.S.S  Camp Officer, Mr. Naveen Correa - Asst. Camp Officer, Mr. Joseph, Mr. Santhosh and N.S.S Unit Leader Ravikumar.

 

Campers Vijay, Sandeep, Benet and Chaitra spoke and shared their experience and the benefits they learned from this camp. They said that, after the 7 days camp, now it becomes very difficult for them to leave the camp, the camp officers were cooperating and coordinating very well with them. The objectives of the camp and the personality development training has given them plenty of knowledge and information. The Lecturers, Camp officers and the Villagers have given them very good cooperation in their activates. From this camp they have developed their personality and knowledge ten times more. They have also learned on the patience, discipline and respect, they said and left the camp with tears.

 

 

Mrs. Vanitha Shenoy, Dr. John Clerence Miranda and Mr. Irwin D’Souza congratulated and gave away the prizes to all the 58 participants of the N.S.S. Camp. Following students were given special prizes for their excellence.

 

Best Dairy  writing : Mayur  II Arts  and Sowmya I Arts
Best Shramadana : Benet II Arts and Saritha II com
Best Cultural program performance : Sudeep II Arts and Ranjitha I Com
Best Student Campers : Vijay II com and Saritha II Com

 

Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Vanitha Shenoy thanked the campers for coming to Shirva Grama and conducting the week long successful N.S.S. camp. Mr. Irwin D’Souza said that he has adopted in his life the objectives he learned from the N.S.S. camp while he was a student. He congratulated all the students of the camp on behalf of Shirva Grama and wished them heavenly blessings. Dr. John Clerence Miranda said that he feels proud that campers have developed their personality and knowledge ten times more and wished them that let this concluding ceremony be their guidance.

 

 

The program was compeered by Sachin Shetty – Camper. Deeksha – Camper welcomed the guests and the gathering. Mr. Edward  Larsen D’Souza - N.S.S  Camp Officer proposed vote of thanks.
