Manipal: M.I.T.’s Un-manned Aircraft Model excels in America

Manipal, 05 October 2011: Engineering Students of Manipal Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) have designed and constructed an model of un-manned aircraft. In the world competitions held in the United States of America recently, this aircraft model has received certificate from NASA. This is the only Indian model and one among the 5 in the world, which received the certificate.
To construct this model, selected students from the various branches of Engineering were formed into a team by name AEROMIT. In the competitions held for the Engineering students in Georgia, U.S.A., which was organized by Society for Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.), team AEROMIT stood 13th place for the performance and 15th place for the design. Overall, among the 75 teams, this team stood in 29th place.
Team leader Parth Khare (Automobile), Shekar Jaa (Mechanical), Samdarshi (Mechanical), Karan Bise ( Aeronatical), Ibrahim Khaleel (Aeronatical), Kumar Mrathunjay (Mechanical), Katian Sinha (Mechanical), Arun Kumar (Aeronatical), Shaikh Adil Anwar (Aeronatical), Pratik Mukarji (Mechanical) and Akash Budiya (Information Technology) have designed this model aircraft.
On Tuesday Manipal University Vice Chancellor Dr. Ramanarayanan viewed this model in Manipal and appreciated the team. M.I.T. Director Dr. Kunkum Garg, Dr. Ramamohan Pai of Aeronatical Department and Manikandan from Automobile Department were also present on the occasion.

This model and even an F16 model can be bought in any supermarkets in dubai . whats the big deal in this ?? its a fact that every project in Engg colleagues is a copy of someones project in US or other colleges ..iam not impressed | |
