Gandhi Jayanthi celebrated at Belman St. Joseph School

Belman, 02 October 2011: The philosophy of Gandhiji and the idealism of Shasthriji are the indications of the service, peace and unity to all the humankind. Gandiji is the world ambassador of peace and his teachings are recognized worldwide said Belman St. Joseph Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza.
He was speaking in his presidential address to the gathering on the occasion of birth celebrations of Gandiji and Shastriji organized at Belman St. Joseph School. Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest Karkala Taluk Panchayath Member and Old Student’s Association President Xavier D’mello said that the teachings of Gandhiji represent equal among all religions and if they are not just limited to the speeches and instead adopted in our lives it is possible to build a nation free from violence, terrorism and corruption.
Belman JCI Unit President Sathish sponsored the program and also presented introductory speech. Belman Church Parish Pastoral Council Vice President entrepreneur Gregory Minezes conveyed greetings on the occasion. Sr. Daisy welcomed the guests and the gathering. B. Pundalika Marathe explained the significance of this day.
Prakyath and Manisha Mascarenas spoke about Gandhi Jayanthi. Vincent Pinto compeered the program. Senior Teacher Sewrine Mendonsa was present on the dias. Juliyana Moras proposed vote of thanks. Cultural programs were conducted, organized by Dance Teacher Harish. After the program the Students performed Shramadhana.
