Feast of St.Vincent De Paul Society celebrated in the Holy Cross Church, Pamboor

Pamboor, 27 Sept 2011: The feast of St. Vincent De Paul, patron saint of the Society of Vincent De Paul (SVP) was celebrated on Sunday, 25 September 2011 at 7.30 am in the Holy Cross Church, Pamboor. The liturgy of the Holy Mass was animated by  the members of the SVP.

 

 

After the Mass, a meeting of the members was organised by the president f the SVP-Lucas D’souza. Fr. Charles Lewis, parish priest, vice president of the Parish Pastooral Council-Frederick Menezes, Convent Superior- Sr. Thelma and the Gurkarn of St. Francis Xavier Ward-Mrs. Asumpta D’Souza, the chief guest of the prgramme were on the dais.
 In her speech, Mrs. Asumpta D’Souza said, " If there is any society in which  we can see God through helping poor, it is the one and only Society of Vincent De Paul.”

Spiritual Director of SVP, Fr. Charles Lewis said that the service which is given by members of SVP is a call for them, they had accepted it happily and may God give them all strength to continue it.A short entertainment programme was organised during this occasion. Mrs. Merlyn D’Almeida and group sang a meaningful song. Mr.Lucas D’Souza and Mr. John Martis presented a skit.Wards Gurkars ,office bearers  and members of other associations of the parish attended the programme.  Mr.Ronald Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
