Belman: Quality Education by Healthy Teachers

Belman, 18 September 2011: During the age of 40 – 50 years the physical, psychological and personal problems lead to various health disorders. At this stage in order to perform the duties without pressure the teachers should undergo compulsory medical checkups. There is link between the body and mind; the teachers who are always cheerful make the children cheerful. Healthy teachers can succeed in giving quality education, said Karkala zone education officer K. Ravishankar.
 
He was speaking at the Health information and medical checkup program conducted during the monthly meeting of education department and Karkala zone Nitte, Nandalike cluster teachers at Belman St. Joseph’s Aided School Hall on Saturday. Speaking further he said that, in the all-round development of the children the responsibility of teachers is crucial, hence the teachers should pay attention on their health, he said.

 

 


 
Manipal Sonia Clinic’s Senior Doctor Dr. Girija spoke and briefed the information on women’s health problems, thairoid, blood sugar, physical problems, cancer and heart related deceases, and explained the importance of healthy life. Udupi Chavana Laboratory Clinical Research Centre Education Society Chairman P.A. Bhat spoke and gave information on blood grouping and importance of blood. Blood pressure, blood grouping and blood sugar content of all the teachers were checked up.
 
Guests and dignitaries present on the dias were; Teachers Association District Secretary Laxmikanth Bhat, Karkala Taluk Association President V.K. Rao Nandalike, Belman Lions Club President Ramakrishna Shetty, Lioness President Gretta D’Souza, St. Joseph School Headmistress Sr. Monica, Lion Secretary Maya Rao and Pramila Gregory Menezes.
 
Cluster Director Karunakara Poojary welcomed the guests and the gathering. Teacher Pundalika Marathe compeered the program. Teacher Vincent Pinto coordinated. The health information program was jointly organized by Belman Lions Club and Lioness Clubs.
