Udupi Diocesan "Catholic Advocates Get together" seminar held at Anugraha, Diocesan Pastoral Center

Udupi, 29 Sept: Most Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi diocese in order to help our community asked to form several think tank groups which bring together professionals from diverse fields such as law, healthcare and other to provide expert counsel and support our community.
In his inaugural address during “Catholic Advocates Get together” seminar under the leadership of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Laity Commission and Justice and Peace Commission of the Udupi diocese held at Anugraha, Diocesan Pastoral Center, Kakkunje near here on Saturday, September 28, Bishop said that in our diocese there are various think tank groups conducting now then meetings with the object and aim to help our community at large. There should need to give knowledge about the changing constitutional laws to our community and also it would be necessary to guide and solve our community problems legally prior to going to the court of law.
The noted advocate in our community M P Noronha of Mangaluru was the resource person of the seminar. M P Noronha said that we advocates have scope to serve our community and the nation. Indeed Advocates is one of the solid professions to success in their life. The benefits of being an advocate include the ability to help clients solve complex legal problems, the potential for high earning potential and the opportunity to make a positive impact on society. He said the importance of the legal profession which serves a crucial role in resolving disputes, defending basic rights, upholding the constitution, maintaining ethics, safeguarding human dignity and promoting social progress. Lawyer is one of the most respected and powerful professions, hence it is considered to be a very rewarding career which has several advantages.
Santhosh Cornelio, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh presided over the programme. Rt. Rev Monsignor Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General and Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Diocese, Dr. Gerald Pinto, Director of Laity Commission, Udupi Diocese, Larsen D’Souza, Director of Justice and Peace Commission, Diocese of Udupi and other were present on the dais.
Prior to the programme invocation prayers were held. Dr. Gerald Cornelio welcomed the gathering and compared the programme. Santhosh Cornelio gave his presidential address at the end. Larsen D’Souza delivered a vote of thanks. Priests, nuns, and a large number of Catholic advocates of the diocese were present.
