On the Occasion of Golden Jubilee ICYM Moodubelle Organizes Blood Donation Drive

Udupi/M’Belle, 17 Mar 2024: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) as part of its Golden Jubilee celebration organized Blood Donation Drive along with Lions Club, Moodubelle, Catholic Sabha, Health Commission and Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala on Sunday, 17 March 2024 at the St. Lawrence Parish Hall, Moodubelle from 9 am to 2 pm. The Blood Bank of the KMC Hospital, Manipal collected the blood from the donors. Altogether 68 Units of blood was collected during the Blood Donation Drive.

 

Ealer in the morning the Blood Donation Drive was inaugurated by Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle. Other dignitaries present included Fr. Pradeep Cardoza-Assistant Parish Priest, Pritish D’Sa-Vice President of the PPC, Mrs. Gracy Rebello-Coordinator of 21 Commissions, Mrs. Shanti Alva and Valerian Noronha-Animators of ICYM, Ln. Joseph Martis-President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle, Mrs. Ancilla D’Souza-President of the Catholic Sabha, Mrs. Jyothi D’Souza-Convener of the Health Commission, Dr. Bismitha-KMC Blood Bank Manipal, Sukumar Poojary-President of the Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala, Naalkubeedhi.

 

 

Following the prayer and welcome by Vyona Lobo-President of the ICYM, Fr. George D’Souza in his message said that among all the donations, Blood Donation is one of the finest acts of human beings. Other donations may disappear, but the blood donated by someone would run in the veins of the beneficiary for a long time.

 

Dr. Bismitha in her address made the audience aware of the need to donate blood and who are eligible to donate the blood.

 

Shaniya D’Almeida-Secretary of the ICYM proposed the vote of thanks and Joy Fernandes compered the programme.
