Playback singer Shailendra Singh honored by Dr. R.K Shetty on the occasion of Dr. K.J Yesudas’ 84th

Mumbai (RBI), 18 Jan 2024: The prestigious People’s Art Center (R.) in Brihanmumbai Ek organized Sangeet Safar was the country’s renowned musician Dr.K.J Yesudas 84th birth anniversary last Wednesday evening at Juhu Harekrishna’s Bhakti Kala Kendra.

 

In the ceremony Bunts Sangha Mumbai Hon. Gen Secretary, Karnataka Janapada Parishat Maharashtra Unit President Dr. R.K Shetty was the guest speaker honored playback singer Shailendra Singh with the Yesudas Best Singer Award.

 

Renowned singers of the country such as Hemalatha, Udit Narayan Jha, Suresh Wadkar, Anup Jalota, Shabbir Kumar, Shailendra Singh and Babul Supriyo were honored with the ’Saptaswara Samrat ’ for their contribution to the field of music. Dr. K.J Yesudas Sadhana Award was presented and honored.

 

 

Head of People’s Art Center Gopalakrishna Pillai welcomed the gathering. Niharikha and Ashish Dabe introduced the awardees, presented the program and felicitated them.

 

As part of the birthday celebrations, the musicians performed popular Hindi songs of Yesudas such as Gori Tera Gam Badapyara (Chitchor), Dil Ke Tukde Tukde Karke (Dada) and Surmai Ankhion Mein (Sadma) among other songs to the delight of the music lovers.
