St. Lawrence Kannada Medium School, Moodubelle Celebrates Annual Day

Udupi/M’Belle, 01 Jan 2024: The Annual Day of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School and Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School was celebrated on Thursday, 21 December 2023.

 

In the morning  at 9.30 am Melwyn Noronha, President of the Parents-Teachers Association unfurled the school flag formally inaugurating the Annual Day. This was followed by variety of games and entertainment programme for the parents. This programme was conducted by the old student of the institution Maxim D’Sa.

 

At 11 am, prize distribution programme for the meritorious students was conducted. The programme was presided over by Elias D’Souza-President of the Old Students Association. Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino-Lecturer in Madhwavadiraja Engineering College, Bantakal and an old student of the institution was the chief guest. Other guests included Emmanuel Cornelio-former Physical Training Teacher and presently member of the Administrative Council and Samson Pamboor-an old student and poet addressed the students.

 

Kumari Pallavi, 10th standard student compered the programme.

 

 

The second phase of the Annual Day commenced at 4 pm with stage programme. Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church and Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions presided over the programme. . Subhaschandra Hegde, an old student of the school and presently a businessman in Pune and Dr. Margaret Lavina Fernandes-Research Scientist, St. john’s Research Institute, Bangalore were  the chief guests.  Pritish D’Sa-Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) was the guest of honour. Mrs. Sunitha Kamath-Headmistress of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School and S. Irene Viegas-Headmistress of Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School were on the dais.

 

During this prpgramme special prizes were distributed to students for their special achievements.

 

Hanisha Aranha and Sashank, 10th standard students compered the programme.

 

 

Following the stage programme the studnts presented variety entertainment programmes.

 

The Yakshagana play titled “Shashiprabha Parinaya” was presented by the students of the school. This Yakshagana was presented  under the guidance of Yakshakalaranga of Udupi, directed by Yakshaguru Shantaram Acharya and sponsored by Subhashchandra Hegde and Rajesh Nayak.
