Cricket tournament for Shanatala trophy held at Hangarakatte

Moodubelle, 08 March 2010: Seventeen cricket teams participated in a tournament to win the coveted Shanatala Trophy on Sunday, 7th March 2010 at the ground at Hangarakatte from 8 am to 6pm. The tornament was organised by the Star Cricketers of Pernankila-Hangarkatte.
The guests of honour at the tournament were Mrs. Suvarna Shetty, Manager of Eterna Infotech Private Limited, Manipal, Mr. Jagannath Shetty of padubettu and Mrs. Shantala Shetty, sponsor of the trophy. The first prize carried an amount of Rs. 3333/- and the Shanatala Trophy and the second prize Rs.1555/- and the Shanatala Trophy. Besides, there were prizes for the Man of the Match and the Man of the Series.
The match was restricted to four overs to each team. At the end of the tournament the following teams won the coveted trophy and cash amount.
First Prize: King Star cricket team-Hangarkatte
Second Prize: Kodangala Friends Cricket Team, Kodangala
Man of the Match: Pravin Orwadi of King Star Cricket Team, Aangarkatte
Man of the Series: Ganesh Shetty of King Star cricket team, Aangarkatte
The first prize was handed over by Mrs. Shantala Shetty, the second prize by Mr. Jagannath Shetty and the Man of the Match and Series prizes were handed over by Mr. Henry Fernandes.
The tournament was witnessed by a large number of people from nearby villages including the members of Dhanalakshmi Swasahaya Group from Hangarkatte.

| Cricket tournament for shanthala trophy held at Hungarakatte, It is a good opportunity to our younger generation get united and show their talent, My childhood days i never heard any tournament specially Hungerakatte area. There were only two shops one hotel of Vittal Nayak and another one is grocery shop of Appu Nayak,no playground nothing, Our thanks to the organisers and the sponsors like Jagannath shetty and Shanthala shetty, Congratulation to our Star Cricketers of Padubettu and best of luck.
