Our Lady of Assumption Church and School celebrated Fr Franklin D’Souza’s Sacerdotal Silver Ju

Chitradurga, 01 Nov 2023: Our Lady of Assumption Church and Assumption Schools at Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga celebrated Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza’s Golden birthday and Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee on October 31, 2023 at School and Church and School premises.

 

October 31st at 8:30am Assumption Schools organised to wish their Manager and Corresspondent Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza. Assumption English High School HM Rev. Fr Nelson D’Souza, Assumption Kannada High School HM Mr. Henry Crasta, English Higher Primary School HM Sr.  Martha and Assumption Kannada Primary School HM Sr. Veronica were present.

 

Staff and students felicitated Fr Franklin D’Souza and wished him God’s abundant blessings. Students honoured Fr Franklin D’Souza with well organised entertainment program.

 

In the evening Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur Parishioners organised Felicitation programme on their Parish Priest Fr Franklin D’Souza’s Golden Birthday and Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee.

 

At 6pm faithful gathered in front of the Church for Rosary Procession. Rev. Fr George K A, Rector of Our Lady of Health Basilica, Harihar blessed chariot then Parish Priest Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza led the Rosary and thanked God for Rosary month.

 

Then at 6:30pm Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza celebrated Golden Birthday and Sacerdotal birthday’s thanksgiving Holy Eucharist together with Rev. Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D’Souza, Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, Rev. Fr Richard Anil D’Souza, Rev. Fr George K A, Rev. Fr Arun Chakravarti, Rev. Fr Clarence Dias, Rev. Fr Alvin Stanislaus, Rev. Fr Alphonse Lobo and Rev. Fr Santhosh.

 

 

Rev. Fr Nelson D’Souza led the choir. Rev. Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D’Souza preached a meaningful homily on Priest and his ministry. 

 

After the Mass Parishioners organised Felicitation program in the Church grounds. Mr. Shaji welcomed the guests and faithful gathered. Sr. Elsamma, superior of St. Anne’s Convent and, Rev. Fr Nelson D’Souza spoke felicitatory words. All the organisations honoured Silver Jubilarians Namely; Rev. Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D’Souza, Parish of Immaculate Conception Church, Newtown Bhadravati, Rev. Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Tirthahalli and their Parish Priest Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza.

 

Parishioners organised various entertaining dances on the vocation.

 

Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza spoke from his heart and thanked his parishioners for their love and support in his ministry as their Parish Priest.

 

Parish Council Secretary Mrs. Victoria thanked everyone. Mr. Victor Raj compered the whole program.
