Nutrition Day Programme organized at Fortune Academy of Health Sciences

Udupi, 11 Oct 2023: The surrounding of famed ‘Chetana Campus’ full of mouthwatering aromatic smell and an atmosphere of delicious food feel, around noon, on Tuesday, 10 October as the students of B Sc Nursing and GNM Course, studying in the ‘Fortune Academy of Health Sciences’ here at Mabukala, enthusiastically united to organise ‘Nutrition Day Programme’.

 

The students were divided into various groups to highlight a particular food pattern – vegetarian, non-vegetarian, cooked, baked, fried, variety of salads, ice cream, desserts etc. including some local recipes. It also marked with required explanation like, its medicinal value, easy to cook, preservation tactics etc.

 

The Chairman of the College Management Mr Taranath Shetty inaugurated the display of huge food varieties - arranged on attractive tables and trays. In his opening remarks, congratulated the students for their exemplary initiative as ‘Nutrition Day’ has become not only a regular affair, in our College but educative and entertaining.

 

 

The event specially highlighted different diets, say, diabetic, diet for hypertension, during pregnancy, adult diet etc. exclusively prepared by students only.

 

College Principal Mrs Smitha, Associate Prof. Selma Lewis and other Lecturers in Mrs Veena, Mrs Anita, Mrs Sheefa, Mrs Aishwarya, and Ms Ambika were present and quizzed the groups to evaluate their efforts, preparation, and cleanliness on the one hand and nutritional values, calories, diet etc. on the other.

 

As a whole it was a beautiful programme introducing tasty and healthy food with full of flavours less spices, arranged by the students, well guided by Class co-coordinators.
