Camp on Blood Donation Awareness was held at Shirva

Shirva, 18 August 2011: Shirva Rotary Interact Club of Don Bosco English Medium High School, Shirva and Chyavana Paramedical Research Center of Udupi jointly organised a day’s camp on blood grouping and awareness on blood donation recently.
The Director of the Chyavana Udupi, P.A.Bhat Kallianpur was the main resource person who spoke on importance of blood donation, Rh factors blood related problems etc. Earlier blood grouping of 250 students was done for the first time. A list of blood group was made by the Interact Club adviser of Shirva Rotary, William Machado and Michael Mathias. Secretary Leo Noronha attended the program.
Headmistress Gretta Noronha presided over the function, Interact Club co-ordinator, Alwyn Danthy welcomed the gathering, Secretary Pratap proposed vote of thanks and programme conducted by the Interact Club President Manish.

Its nice to note that the young people are made aware of the importance of blood. Remember Amitabh Bachhan survived mainly because of the blood donated by people. |
