Brahmavara Taluk Level Ball Badminton Tournament at NJC Barkur

Brahmavara, 17 Sep 2023: Under the aegis of National Junior College, Barkur, Brahmmavar Taluk Level Ball Badminton Tournament for High School students was held on Saturday, 16th September.

 

Udupi District Administration, Dept of Education Brahmmavara Office and other platforms joined their hands with the organisers to conduct this well participated event in Barkur.

 

Locally, Barkur Educational Society, Principal and Staff both teaching and non-teaching, NJC Old Students Association and parents shouldered various responsibilities to offer best facilities to visiting teams.

 

The valedictory and Prize distribution ceremony was held in the Kala Mandira Auditorium. Among others, president of NJC Old Students Association Mr S. Karunakar Shetty, Correspondent Mr B Gopala Naik, Principal PU College, Prof U Kottrasamy, Mr. A. Krishna Hebbar, Treasurer BES were present. Head Mistress of the High School section, Mrs Hemavathi P. S, welcomed the gathering and thanked all who cooperated and contributed in different ways for the success of the event.

 

 

In the closely fought games, Chethana High School Hungarkatte, Mabukal, won the prestigious Winners trophy in men’s section whereas, SVVN English Medium High School grabbed the Runners up trophy, and in Girls Section it was the turn of SVVN to win the Winners Champion Trophy and Again Chethana High School Hungarkatte contented with Runners up title.

 

It is heartening to note, that the Play grounds, basic facilities for Sports and Games were upgraded and given a much required facelift during the just concluded Platinum Jubilee celebrations were appreciated by the visiting teams, Physical directors and by the officials from the Education Dept.
