St Mary’s College, Shirva celebrates 76th Independence Day

Shirva, 16 Aug 2023: On August 15, the 76th year of independence was celebrated in St. Mary’s College, Shirva here. The freedom we are enjoying today is the result of the sacrifice-struggle of millions of Indians in history, principal of the college, Dr Herald Ivan Monis delivered Independence Day message after hoisted the flag. Let us remember the sacrifices of our warriors, let us always remember the freedom fighters who fought for freedom. He said that today’s youth should get proper guidance and work hard in various fields for the development of the country also build a new vibrant society for the development of the nation.
Cadet Senior Under Officer Shettigar Hemasree Sudarshan, Junior Under Officer Aneesh Bhat, Pooja, Company Seargeant Quarter Master Anup Nayak lead the parade.
Rangers scout leader Sangeet Poojary, students of NCC, NSS, Rovers and Rangers unit of the college and all teaching and non-teaching staff of the college were present in this celebrations. Cadets Vishal Terence Vaz and Alistair Sujoy D’Souza assisted.
Rovers Scout Leader Mr. Prakash welcomed and NSS Program Officer Mr. Premanath proposed vote of thanks. NCC officer Lt. Mr. K. Praveen Kumar guided and compered the program.
