Lions Club, Moodubelle celebrates traditional ‘Aatindhonji Dina’

Udupi/M’Belle, 07 Aug 2023: The Lions Club, Moodubelle celebrated ‘Aatindhonji Dina’, associated with traditional festivities including various games and mouth watering eatables and dishes on Sunday, 6 August 2023 at the Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle. The various eatables and dishes were prepared by the Lions Club members.

 

The festivities of the ‘Aatindhonji Dina’ commenced from 10.30 am. The chief attraction of the festivities were various traditional games and competitions as well as the traditional food items prepared and consumed during the month of Aati. The games were conducted efficiently by Ln. Ivan Menezes which were continued even after the stage programme and lunch.

 

The stage programme was conducted at 12.15pm. Ln. Joseph Martis, President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle presided over the programme. Other dignitaries present on the dais included Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Region Chairman Ln. Hrishikesh Hegde,mjf, Region Secretary Ln. Chandrashekar, mjf, Zone Chairpersons Ln. Ivan D’Almedia and Mrs. Veena J. Shetty, Ln. Devadas Hebbar, the resource person on ‘Aatindhonji Dhina’, Ln. Valerian Noronha-Secretary Lions Club, Moodubelle, Ln. Rajendra Shetty-Treasurer and Leo Eathan Martis-President of the Leo Club, Moodubelle.

 

 

The festivities of the ‘Aatindhonji Dina’ were formally inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dais by pouring paddy into the wooden ‘kalasa’. Fr. Pradeep Cardoza delivered benedictory address.

 

Ln. Devadas Hebbar narrated the tradition of the ‘Aatindhonji Dhina’ with various examples.

 

Ln. Joseph Martis welcomed the gathering, Ln. Valerian Noronha proposed the vote of thans and Ln. Wilson D’Souza coordinated and compered the programme.

 

The Lions Club, Moodubelle members had prepared 35 varieties of food items which were relished by all those who were present. They also enthusiastically participated in all the games and competitions organized on this occasion.
