Udupi: Progress of the Projects briefed in KDP meeting

Udupi, 12 August 2011: Under the Basava Housing project total 2,000 houses have been allotted, out of them 6 houses are already completed and 348 houses are under construction, said Jilla Panchayath Vice President Jyothi S. Shetty. She was speaking in her presidential address in the Karnataka Developement Programs (KDP) progress review meeting held at the assembly hall of Jilla Panchayath on Thursday. Under Basava housing project already rupees 54.48 lakhs have been released. Under Indira Avas project of 2011 – 12 total 394 house renovations and 258 new houses have been allotted from Rajeev Gandhi Nigam, she said.
S. Prabhakara Sharma – Jilla Panchayath Chief Administrative Officer, instructed the Public Education department Officers to arrange travelling allowances, if necessary, upon verification, to the students of rural areas who have to go to school travelling a long distances.
Dr. Ramachandra Bayari – Jilla Medical Officer, informed that, from the animal breeding department 18,009 cows were given artificial impregnation, from health department 4923 polio vaccine, 4875 measles vaccine and 5402 B.C.G. vaccines were given. Also until the end on July 2011, 411 TB patients have been identified. By conducting blood test 60215 malaria patients have been identified, out of them 675 have been cured, he said.
In the district, by end of August 2011, 3454 mm rain is generally expected and so far 2974 mm rain has come. There is a target of 48,200 hectare area for sawing, so far 47,310 hectare area sawing (naati) is done. 3,140 tons of fertilizer has been supplied to the district, said B.Y. Shrinivas – Joint Director of Agricultural Department.
In the assembly meeting Education and Health Sthayi Samithi President K. Babu, Social Justice Sthayi Samithi President Upendra Nayak, Asst. Secretary D. Pranesh Rao, Chief Project Officer Vijayakumar Shetty and Chief Accounts officer Thimmappa were present.

When all people know about these, there will be demand for it, thus the benefit goes to the ones who are in real need and less chances for corruption. |
