Karkala: New OPD Block and OT Complex inaugurated at Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital

Karkala, 08 Mar 2023: Rt. K Krishna Prabhu OPD Block and new OT Complex inaugurated at Dr. T. M. A. Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala. Shri V Sunil Kumar, Minister of Energy and Kannada & Culture, Government of Karnataka was the Chief Guest of the program. After the inauguration, in his speech, he appreciated the work being done by the Manipal group in the field of health, including in the time of Covid. He said that now Dr. T. M. A. Pai Hospital is upgrading to a higher level with modern amenities, so the people of Karkala and surrounding villages will get much more quality healthcare services at affordable cost.

 

Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh-Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal, and Dr Sharath Kumar Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor–Health Sciences, MAHE Manipal were the guests of honour of the program. Dr. H.S. Ballal- Pro-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal presided over the program.

 

On this occasion Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh said, Now with this advanced facility, TMA Pai Hospital, Karkala has been completely elevated to the level of a secondary care center.  Soon we add some more facilities including 24*7 Trauma and Emergency services, CT scan, etc. So that now, patients need not come to Kasturba hospital, Manipal for secondary care treatment

 

 

In his introductory and overview, Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao recalled the days when Dr. T. M. A. Pai Hospital grew from its inception till now and the cooperation of the Rotary Club.

 

In his presidential address, Dr. H.S. Ballal said, Dr. T. M. A. Pai recalled the days leading up to the inception of Hospital Karkala and congratulated the Rotary Club Karkala. He said that MAHE Manipal is committed to provide advanced treatment to the people of Karkala in the future also by taking more development measures for this hospital.

 

Dr Kirthnath Ballal, Chief Medical Officer, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala welcomed the gathering and Dr Sanjay Kumar proposed vote of thanks. Dr Padmaraj Hegde, Dean-KMC-Manipal, Dr Anand Venugopal, Chief Operating Officer-Teaching Hospital, MAHE, Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty-Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, and Top officials of MAHE Manipal and Rotary officials were present.
