Catechism Day Observed in St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 06 Feb 2023: The Catechsm Day was observed in St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle on Sunday, 5 February 2023 following the 10 am Children’s Mass offered by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle. The stage and cultural programmes were held in the St. Lawrence Community Hall.
Sr. Irene Vegas, Superior of the Loreto Convent welcomed the gathering. Shanti Alva-Coordinator of the Sunday Catechism classes presented the report. In the report she appreciated the children for their active participation in the classes. Their presence on Sundays made all teachers happy and joyful.
The Parish Priest Fr. George D’Souza tirelessly gave practice to proclaim the word of God. Assistant Parish priest Fr. Pradeep cardoza also give requisite faith regarding Christian values on every Sunday prior to Mass. At the end of the report she thanked Fr. George D’Souza and the entire Sunday catechism team.
Fr. Charles Furtado (OFM Cap), Superior of Padre Pio Minor Seminary who was the chief guest of the programme said “Sunday catechism will enhance our life and recalls us that we are the loveable children of God. The Word of God is the center of Christianity. Read the bible. Having received the lesson nurture the same in your daily life. Have love towards God, Church, Bible and teacher. Your life will be beautiful”.
Speaking on this occasion, Fr. George D’Souza said “Children are always loved by God. You must always aim high. Reach the Goal high. The last one year of Catechism class will certainly help you to walk in the right path which Jesus showed you.Today is the feast of Transfiguration of Christ. You have to transform in all the way possible”.
Prizes were distributed by the following to the children in different categories: Toppers: Fr. Pradeep Cardoza; Highest attendance: Gracy Rebello; Teachers: Fr. George D’Souza; Suvad: Drawing, Poem: Fr. Pradeep Cardoza.
Following the stage programme cultural programme on Bible themes were presented by the children.
Br. Philip Noronha proposed the vote of thanks and Johan Aranha compered the programme.
