‘Saud Kutam Shirva’ celebrates Shirva Parish Feast in Bahrain

Bahrain, 09 Feb 2023: The Shirva Parish Feast was celebrated for the first time in Bahrain by "Saud kutam Shirva," a small association formed a couple of years ago in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Celebration of nostalgia at a home away from home.

 

The Parish Feast was celebrated with great pomp and show at the Hotel Papillon - Manama, Bahrain on Friday, 3rd February 2023, spearheaded by the association’s vibrant and enthusiastic member Mr. Rony Norbert Pinto and co-supported by the association’s energetic members Mr. Jeevan Martis, Mr. Manesh Menezes, Mr. Wilfred Saldana, and Mr. Wilroy Dsouza.

 

Mrs. Adeline D’silva compered the event and welcomed the Shirva parishioners. Mr. Wilfred Saldana and family led a prayer at 8.20 pm to commence the feast. The organizers then introduced the evening’s chief guest, Rev. Fr. Daryl Fernandes, Spiritual Director of the Konkani Community and Asst. Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church- Manama - Bahrain.

 

 

Mr. Rony Norbert Pinto gave a brief welcome note followed by Father Daryl’s heartfelt address to the gathering.

 

The event’s main sponsors and supporters Mrs. Jacintha  & Mr. Benedict Barboza, Mr. Paul Quadras & Family, Mr. Stevan & Mrs. Reshma D’souza were honored with flowering plants as a token of love and appreciation.

 

Mr. Manesh Menezes delivered the vote of thanks.

 

Shirva Parish children entertained the audience with beautiful dance numbers choreographed by Destiny Kings and initiated by Mrs. Veera and Mr. Sunil Corda.

 

Baby Riezel and Mrs. Janet Shweta sang melodious songs. Adeline, Janet, and Wilfred led several energetic and spot games throughout the evening. All the members participated enthusiastically, and some lucky winners took home the prizes.

 

Hotel Papillon provided a sumptuous dinner, which everyone enjoyed.

 

Everyone danced and grooved to the superhit numbers played by DJ Alwyn. The event concluded with the Baila dance.
