Mumbai: Journalists mean dignity & recognition: Kar minister Narayan Gowda

Mumbai, 12 Jul 2022: ‘Journalists are distinguished citizens who provide justice to the society. So journalists are instrumental in dignity and recognition. Such journalists should give importance to objective reporting without showing any rhetorical content in their writing. The journalists should never hesitate to tell the truth and warn the society, said Dr K C Narayan Gowda, Karnataka minister of sports, youth empowerment, silk, planning and statistics.

 

The minister Narayan Gowda was speaking at Journalism Day that was organized by Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra® at Club House of Solitary Corporate Park, Andheri (East), here on Sunday July 10.

 

The programme presided by Rons Bantwal, president Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh. The vice chancellor of Mangalore University Prof Yadapadithaya was the chief guest.

 

 

Albert W D’Souza, chairman of Aldel Education Trust and Model Bank Ltd, Lata Jayaram Shetty (Regency), former chairperson of Bunts Sangha Mumbai Women’s Wing, Suryakant Jaya Suvarna, director of Bharat Bank Limited were the guests of honor.

 

Speaking after releasing the logo of 15th anniversary of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh, minister Gowda said, ‘Media becomes prestigious only when it appeals to the masses by displaying moral values. When sowing news, it should be true, not far from the truth. It should be accurate and not create a confusing atmosphere anywhere. Objectivity is very important,’ said Gowda.

 

Albert D’Souza said that press media is still a powerful communication tool when journalists use such a profession properly and judiciously, the society becomes healthy. Although the life of media workers is very dangerous and difficult, the reputation of journalists is that they manage it and win the hearts of the readers.

 

Lata Shetty said that it is imperative that journalists behave as if they are betraying people’s trust. Therefore, along with newspapers, journalists should also maintain the trust of the people and maintain the dignity of journalism. The journalists from Mumbai are very hard workers and very honest.

 

In his presidential address, Rons Bantwal said that the celebration of this Journalist’s Day is full of enthusiasm for the unity of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh in outlying Maharashtra. The participation of the majority of members demonstrated the strength of the Sangha. That the association will continue to grow as a model organization for the benefit of the members.

 

 

Karnataka Rajyotsava Awardee Dr Suneeta M.Shetty, recipient of the ’Outstanding Specialist’ award from AMC Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, Dr R K Shetty (Award), Dr Shivaram K. Bhandary who celebrated the 60th birthday, Police Mitra Organization New Delhi (India) has been appointed as its Navi Mumbai District Chief Dr Shiva Mudigere was specially honored.

 

Santosh Devadiga and Sumana Devadiga, who are members of the Sangha and got married recently and Raghavendra Dayananda Salyan who scored 93.20% in SSC were felicitated.
